Callahan: I know what you're thinking: "Did he fire six shots or simply five?" Well, to tell yous the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. Merely existence this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to inquire yourself one question: 'Practice I feel lucky?' Well, do you, punk?
[The thief gives up trying to retrieve his shotgun; Callahan picks it up and starts to walk away, lowering the hammer.]

De Georgio: That's one affair about our Harry, he doesn't play any favorites. Harry hates everybody. Limeys, Micks, Hebes, Niggers, Honkies, Fat Dagos, Chinks, y'all proper name information technology.
Gonzales: How does he feel virtually Mexicans?

Gonzalez: [well-nigh quitting the force] I've been doing a lot of thinking about information technology. I have a educational activity credential and I effigy, what for, you know?
[interruption]
Gonzalez'southward wife: I thought I could take it ... Whatever it takes to be a cop'due south wife, I'm just not sure I'chiliad making it. Ah, merely peradventure it's when I scout him walk out that door at night, and I call up, what if this is the final time I ever encounter him again ... doesn't it bulldoze your wife crazy?

Gonzalez's wife: I'm so sorry.
Callahan: That'southward o.k. Look, I want y'all to tell Chico that I empathize, y'all know, him quitting. I-I call up he'south right. This is no life for you lot 2.
Gonzalez'southward wife: Why practice you stay in it and then?
Callahan: I don't know, I actually don't.

Callahan: The girl, where is she?
Scorpio: You tried to kill me!
Callahan: If I tried that, your caput'd exist splattered all over this field. Now where'due south the daughter?
Scorpio: I desire a lawyer!
Callahan: I said, where's the daughter?

Commune Chaser: I've just been looking over your arrest report. A very unusual piece of police work. Really amazing.
Callahan: Aye, well I had some luck.
District Chaser: You're lucky I'm not indicting you for attack with intent to commit murder.
Callahan: What?!
District Attorney: Where the hell does it say you've got a correct to kick down doors, torture suspects, deny medical attention and legal counsel. Where have you been? Does Escobedo band a bell? Miranda? I mean, y'all must accept heard of the Fourth Amendment. What I'm saying is, that man had rights.
Callahan: Well, I'm all "cleaved upwardly" about that man's rights.
District Attorney: You should be. I've got news for you, Callahan. As soon as he's well plenty to go out the hospital, he walks.
Callahan: What are you lot talking about?
District Attorney: He'southward costless.
Callahan: You hateful you lot're letting him go?
District Attorney: We have to, we can't attempt him.
Callahan: And why is that?
Commune Attorney: Considering I'm not wasting a half a million dollars of the taxpayer'due south money on a trial nosotros can't possibly win. The trouble is, we don't have any evidence.

District Attorney: I call it nothing, zero.
Callahan: Are yous trying to tell me that Ballistics can't friction match the bullet up to this rifle?
District Attorney: It does non matter what Ballistics tin do. This rifle might make a nice gift. Only it's inadmissible as evidence.
Callahan: And who says that?
Commune Attorney: It's the law.
Callahan: Well then, the law is crazy!
District Attorney: This is Judge Bannerman of the appellate court. He also holds classes in Constitutional Police force in Berkeley. I've asked him for an opinion — your Accolade?
Judge Bannerman: Well, in my opinion, the search of the suspect'due south quarters was illegal. Bear witness obtained thereby, such as that hunting rifle, for case, is inadmissible in court. You should have gotten a search warrant. I'm sorry, only information technology's that elementary.
Callahan: Search warrant!? At that place was a girl dying.
District Chaser: She was in fact expressionless according to the medical written report.
Callahan: But I didn't know that.
Judge: The courtroom would accept to recognize the law officer's legitimate business organisation for the girl'south life, but there is no way they tin can maybe condone constabulary torture. All evidence concerning the daughter — the suspect's confession, all physical prove — would have to exist excluded.
Callahan: (sighs) At that place must be something you can get him on.
Estimate: Without the bear witness of the gun and the girl, (half chuckles) I couldn't convict him of spitting on the sidewalk. No, the suspect's rights were violated, nether the Quaternary and 5th and probably the Sixth and Fourteenth Amendments.
Callahan: And Anne Marie Deacon, what about her rights? I hateful, she's raped and left in a hole to die. Who speaks for her?
Commune Attorney: The District Chaser's office, if you lot'll let us. I've got a wife and three kids. I don't desire him on the streets any more than you do.
Callahan: Well, he won't be out there long.
District Attorney: What is that supposed to mean?
Callahan: I mean sooner or later he'due south gonna stub his toe and then I'll exist right there.
District Chaser: This function won't stand for whatever harassment.

District Attorney: How practice y'all know?
Callahan: 'Cause he likes it.

Callahan: Yeah, I've been following him on my own time. And everyone tin can tell I didn't do that to him.
Master: How?
Callahan: Cause he looks likewise damn skillful, that's how!

Mayor: (on phone) The jet must exist fueled and set up to become in a half an hour. Skeleton crew, they must be volunteers. Tell them the man is dangerous. Well, here, I'll read you lot this note which was delivered at eight o'clock this morning: "To the City of San Francisco. You have double-crossed me for the final fourth dimension. I'yard alert you to have my $200,000 in a jet airplane ready and waiting. Scorpio: It's very simple. I've got the kids and you start screwing around, the kids showtime dying. Is the airplane prepare?
Mayor: The jet is being fueled and fix to go at the airport. The money will be there by the fourth dimension yous get in that location.
Scorpio: All correct, at present listen and mind very advisedly. I'm going to be driving forth prissy and easy, just me and a motorcoach load of kids. I'm going to turn off on the Sir Francis Drake Blvd. on my way to the Santa Rosa Airdrome. I don't want to see any police cars, helicopters, whatever. At present if you lot got the guts to play this game past the rules, the kids will have a nice little aeroplane ride.
Mayor: Well, where are you going?
Scorpio: I'll tell the pilot when I get on the plane. No alerts, nothin'.
Mayor: I guarantee you y'all will not be molested in any way. I give y'all my discussion of award on it.

Master: Callahan? — you lot willing to take the money to him?
Callahan: When are you people gonna cease messing around with this guy. He's gotta exist stopped at present.
Mayor: He's got a bus load of kids and I can't have that chance. I gave my give-and-take of honor on information technology, and he will not be molested — and that'due south a direct social club, Callahan!
Callahan: Well, you can merely get yourself another delivery boy.

Scorpio: [singing] Row, row, row your boat/gently down the stream/merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily ...
Bus Kid: Where are we going?
Scorpio: What? What did yous say?
Bus Kid: Where are we going?
Scorpio: Nosotros're going to the ice-foam manufacturing plant and come across how water ice-cream'south made. Now anybody who doesn't wanna become tin become off right here.
Coach Kid: I wanna go home to my mommy.
Scorpio: [slaps the child] Stupid kid! Come up on sing everyone! Sing or I'll get home and kill all your mommies, sing, sing!

[The Scorpio Killer holds an innocent kid hostage at the edge of a cliff]
Scorpio: Driblet the gun, creep!
[Callahan approaches Scorpio equally the latter laughs manically]

Scorpio: Drop the fucking gun!
[Callahan pretends to drop his gun, simply to burn it at Scorpio, who lets the kid go. Callahan then approaches the wounded Scorpio and points the gun at Scorpio, who is nigh to retrieve his]
Callahan: I know what y'all're thinking, punk. You're thinking "Did he fire six shots or merely 5?" Now, to tell yous the truth, I've forgotten myself in all this excitement. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and it will blow your head make clean off, you've gotta enquire yourself a question: 'Do I feel lucky?
